The German government is planning measures to reduce cookie banners. New technologies such as PIMS are intended to manage consent centrally and simplify the process for users. But what does this mean for website operators?

At least the ruling applies to RheinMain University of Applied Sciences, which used the CookieBot service on its website. Following a ruling by the Wiesbaden Administrative Court in summary proceedings, the university is no longer allowed to use the service on its own website. It is not yet clear when the university will comply.

Today, on 20.05.2021, the German Bundestag passed the new TDDDG that regulates the use and consent of cookies and any other information in the visitor's browser. Particular attention should be paid to the fines that apply here.
