Is the use of cookies still legal?

Since 2009, EU data protection directives have required that users are asked for their consent before cookies are set and can prevent the use of cookies in this way. This method is called the opt-in procedure. Unfortunately, many website operators have interpreted the EU regulations in their favor in the past. This led to the frequent use of the opt-out procedure, in which users must first explicitly and actively object to the use of cookies.

This is also possible with CCM19 if explicitly requested, but it is implemented differently by default, in compliance with the GDPR.
