What if my site is hosted in the USA, e.g. by Squarespace or other providers?
There are two different problems here that come together with regard to the GDPR.
1. The cookie problem: We get this under control with CCM19
2. The data transfer that happens unsolicited to the USA because the site is hosted on a US server. No cookie manager in the world can help here.
You can of course use your website with our Cookie Manager. CCM19 can block everything that is technically blockable. If CCM19 is set correctly, the cookies that can be blocked will actually be blocked.
However, there is a problem if the site is hosted in the USA: in this case, personal data will be transferred by force, so to speak. More on the legal cause of the problem here: https://www.tigges.legal/jus-letter-datenschutz-eu-us-privacy-shield-unwirksam.html
If the company were based in the USA, this would of course not be a problem, but as it is (presumably) based in Germany, German law applies.
Ergo: This is not a technical problem or a functional problem for one or our cookie manager. It is an infrastructure problem that cannot be solved technically even if a layer is placed over it.
(Please note: This is not legal advice, but our opinion on this topic)
